Brad is the founder of Kahala Capital Advisors LLC, a private investment firm, and of Kahala Aviation Ltd. a commercial aircraft leasing company. Prior to Kahala Capital, Mr. Smith worked for almost 20 years in banking in New York and Asia, including five years at Bear Stearns. Prior to Bear Stearns Mr. Smith spent 10 years with Bankers Trust Company as a syndicate manager in the loan syndications group where he was responsible for the syndication of some of the largest leveraged loan financings. He also worked in the Company’s credit trading businesses in Tokyo and Hong Kong. Mr. Smith served in the past on a variety of fund boards and investment committees including Tricadia Credit Strategies Ltd. until August 2019 and is currently on the board of trustees of the Hawai’i Nature Conservancy.
Mr. Smith holds a BA from St. Joseph’s University and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management.
